k so im thinking of getting a red max one day in the next year...and was wondering what oxycon i could run it on for boro? has any one ever run it on an oxycon? cuz the flame is only like a 3/4 max or sum thing so it cant take much right? and pre mix is more oxy efficient?

I don't know about the premix tip on the RedMax, but when we tested a CC, the premix center that was on that torch was about the same as the 7 jet standard mix torches in oxygen use.

I recently tested the bottom fire (the large fire) of a RedMax on some 10 LPM concentrators.

RedMax (large fire) on a 10 LPM Regalia
candle length: 0.200"
shoulder width: 1.750"
flame length: 12"

RedMax on a 10 LPM Regalia and a 10 LPM Integra10 (large fire)
candle length: 0.500"
shoulder width: 1.950"
flame length: 20"

I would say that while a single 10 LPM Regalia powers the Minor and likely a premix tip well for boro, it doesn't power the bottom fire of the RedMax enough for more than soft glass.

Two 10 LPM machines together, however, could power the RedMax to work boro.
