I have decided to start saving up for a big-girl-torch, and since tanked oxygen is illegal exept for registered, approved workshops in norway, an oxycon is the only way to go. I work with 104 now, but I might want to do other coe's later. What torch and oxycon would you guys recomend? Could I get a smallish setup now, and upgrade to another oxycon and bigger torch later? Do you know anywhere I could get an oxycon in europe, so I don't have to pay to get it shipped from the states? Anything else I should know?

Check out this thread on the new little Cricket. http://www.lampworketc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=100430&highlight=cricket
You can email GTT or ask KBinkster directly on the oxycon. I haven't used one but I have a Lynx and a Cheetah and love both. I have also used a mini cc and really liked that as well.

Wow, The cricket looks great, perfect for my needs. Now all i have to figure out is where to get the oxycon from. It would definately be best if it ran on 220V, and i bet shipping form USA is gonna cost an arm and a leg....
Hi there
Try Quinton & Griet at Glassworks in Belgium

or Martin at Tuffnells here in the UK
http://www.tuffnellglass.com/
They might work out cheaper than importing - both are very friendly too :)

Many glassers in Asia, Australia, and Europe have found it's cheaper to bring stuff in from Canada or the US then to get it locally. We routinely ship various all over the planet.

The American oxycons are all 120 volt 60 hz but are only 5 amps so require only a small transformer to convert to 220 volt 50 hz. We regularly ship kilns (these are prewired to 220/50) to many different countries. Have a pair of fusing kilns along with an assortment of glass now being crated to go to Hong Kong. I'm negotiating now with several different freight companies to get competitive freight rates on oxycons to Australia and Europe. Also working on getting a good supplier for transformer/convertors.
