Cleaning a Mega Minor?

Hi,
I just read somewhere that one should clean the holes of one's torch???

Oh dear, I've been running this guy without cleaning it for months! :sad:

Wish it had come with some kind of instructions, but it didn't. Can someone tell me how to do this? And how often from now on?

I have only got a minor, but I clean the jets once a week with a tool I got from a specialist welding shop. I have a pic of it for you:

I was told to leave the O2 running whilst cold then run the little wire "dooverlackie" that fits, in and out of each of the jet holes to to clean out any carbon/yukky buildup. I do it on a Friday once a week before I torch and have never had any problems with my jets or flame.

I would assume that a Mega Minor would be roughly the same idea as a minor.

The tool (I think it was called Jet Cleaning Wire set) only cost me $4 here in Australia and I wouldn't think it would be too much more over there.

One tip though....... don't send your DH to pick it up for you or you would be at serious risk of some blokey impulse tool buying! Mine walked away with a MiG welder ! (double standards isn't it, My tools are ok to impulse buy but not his :pout:..... only joking :p)

HA HA I understand sending the DH to Home Depot and have him come back with a welder, he's been wanting one forever but can't figure out where he'd use it. LOL

Thank you so much! Yes, I will do that every week from now on, hope the ports are ok and no damage has been done. The flame seems fine and I would have never even thought about cleaning the ports had I not read about it.
