Doesn't this look a lot like the HotHead for a quarter of the price?

It was just a matter of time until one of the thousands of Chinese tool makers started supplying these. I'm surprised the price is that high.
How long until the Chinese start offering larger torches? I'd not be surprised to learn that a few of the "Made in USA" models have nothing more then the package made stateside.

Similar but not the same. The hothead has holes at the base of the burner head that draws/pulls more air into it(like a venturi). I believe to increase the combustion of the propane...so its a hotter torch. That head doesn't look like it has the vent holes.

I think it works the same way though. The holes are at the base of the pipe rather than the bottom of the head, so it's still sucking in air. I wonder if my local HF has one. I don't want to pay shipping on one and find out it's not the same, but I am curious... cost me 10 bucks and a MAPP container to find out.

Just looks like cheap Chinese copy of "any" propane torch, possibly one of any dozen fuel/air torches on market.......
If you want interesting read about Hot Head "copy" read this....

Didn't see those. I bought a hothead when I was away from my home torch to get my torch fix but I hate torching on it since I didn't learn on it, but it served me well even with the xtra bucks I spent.
When did the magna come out? I think I saw them at Homedepot last year when I was on a small torch hunt but wasn't sure it would melt glass.

That might explain why the wholesale price each for minimum 100 torches is more from "Hot Head" then for just one from any of several wholesalers.

Just looked at my HF and they didn't have one. I have a nice redmax, a national, and I'm on the list for a Cricket, but I was thinking a cheap HH would be good on the off chance I ever have a show where I can demo.
