I am a bit of a newby to torch workng. I have worked in glass blowng quite some years ago, and am just now setting up a torch station in my garage to begin work on a smaller scale. I just bought a hose for my torch (a Nortel minor bench burner) to use with natural gas. I will use oxygen from a tank for a bit, but what I really want is an oxygen concentrator. I was told that I needed a hose assembly that was rated T with a liner for use with natural gas. Well this was quite expensive, and the first local supply house was out of them. A second place I went to said that a P hose (for acetelyne) would be fine and would only cost about half as much. So, the question I have for all you with experience, is which should I purchase? Is the cheaper P hose ok, or should I go with the more expensive T hose? Thanks for any information you can give me.

If you want to stay within "approved" hoses and design criteria. "T" hose is approved for ALL fuel gasses, "R" hose if approved for Acetylene ONLY....
Don't know who you are dealing with but there is very little price difference in the hose type that are on markets...
Here is one example of hose pricing in welding markets....
http://store.weldingdepot.com/cgi/weldingdepot/scan/fi=products/st=db/sp=results/co=1/sf=category/se=Welding%20Hose/op=eq/nu=0/bs=1/ml=12/tf=description/to=x/se=1/sf=inactive/op=ne/sf=tax_category/se=1/op=eq/va=banner_text=/va=banner_image=.html?id=MuDCz6UV
Scroll down and find 1/4 inch x 25 foot hose.....

Thanks for the reply and the lead to the online welding store. Prices are more reasonable than the local welding shop. @ $19 on line vs $44 from the welding supply in town for the same 25 ft lenght of T hose.
