I made my first set last night. The tutorial was wonderful. I had to substitute 24 gauge for 26 gauge (thought I had some, but nope) but it still worked likea charm.

My first wrapped part wasn't nearly as pretty as Julie's, but once you wrap it again, those little imperfections go away.

No picture, yet. I used copper for the body and twisted part, and bronze for the final wrap.

Thank-you Julie!!

Your sooooo welcome Lynda! You can really use any gauge you want. You can get different looks with different gauges and types of wire. I have even used 30 gauge wire to make my coil with but you have to wrapped it around a thicker gauge. You can also use more 18 gauge wire to make your hoops larger. I would recomend a thicker gauge like 16 gauge if your going to make them much bigger. I can't wait to see a picture of yours. It sound gorgeous!

I'm also working on a tutorial for my cuff bracelet. I hope to have it ready in a week or so. I want to give people plenty of time if they want to make them for Christmas gifts. The hard part will be clearing off my kitchen table for Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow. LOL!

Here are the two that I made so far. Silver on a copper base, and copper with bronze. Can't really see a difference in the two after antiquing, though.

Thank-you Julie!!!

Those look awesome. Just waiting for the eighteen gauge copper. I have to order it. The only one I have is hard as a rock. Not soft. Rats. Those are beautiful.
