How to work with shards

I've been contemplating on the idea of creating either a DVD or a downloadable movie centered around shards and how to use them.

I get a lot of emails from people asking for tips and tricks so I thought I would test the waters and see if there is any interest in something like this.

I've been doing demos on my webcasts (http://www.justin.tv/avenuebeads) on this very subject but obviously the video quality while streaming isn't the best. So I'm not sure how well people are able to grasp it that way.
