CLASSES HAVE CHANGED ! TAKE A LOOK!!!!!!!

NEW TUITION COST FOR THE FELT CLASS!

Intro to Borosilicate Beadmaking
Friday, January 9, 2009

9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

In this one day workshop we will explore and celebrate the unpredictability of borosilicate glass. Through the use of layering and fuel ratio we will discover some of the limitless possibilities in using this fine material. Emphasis on the nuances of reading heat, viscosity & workability will be covered.

We’ll be working through a package of some of the reducing rods to get a feel for what happens when we alter the fuel environment to familiarize students with the wonderful properties of this glass, using this knowledge to create a working palette. Included will be stringer use, frits and press molds. We’ll be using Minor Burners to make our “cool” Boro beads– Call ahead if you want to bring your own torch.

A great selection of Northstar clear & colored rod (approximately a pound) is included in your class fee and will be yours to take home after class.
Torch, tools, all supplies and a delicious lunch is also included. If you wish to bring your favorite tools, please label them.
$225 per student
Bring your own "Didymiums"!
