Hi -
I was wondering if anyone has used their product. I am looking for both 104COE and 90 COE dichro. I have had trouble with the 104 dichro that is coated by a different company and I was wondering if Dichro Magic would be better. Also, the Bullseye sizzle stix are sooo expensive - I was hoping to find a less expensive alternative for 90 dichro.
Anyone? Help?
Thanks....

I like CBS or Dicho Alchemy for boro... haven't use soft glass and I don't know if these guys coat soft glass. I hope somebody can help. In the mean time, google these names and see if they do soft glass. ;)

I prefer CBS too. It's just sturdier, for lack of a better word.

You want to get hold of Vicki Harrison. She's not the Dicro Diva, she's the Dicro Queen. Vicki has been doing Dicro Beads for at least 15 years, since Dicro became available to our industry. Her work is great and she makes it look so easy. The inventor of the CREATION STATION and PULL MY STRINGER.
Great person, good friend.

I personally believe Dichro Magic to be one of the best dichros on the market. I have used several different brands and was totally frustrated on how they held up when using them in lampwork. The coating on Dichro Magic is much heavier than the others I have used and stands up well to the heat of the flame. Dichroic beads are now a breeze!! It is also great for fusing. Their prices are great. Needless to say, I love 'em!

From a fusing standpoint (which may be different from lampwork), I prefer CBS because it breaks up easier than Dichro Magic... but that's the effect I'm after in my dichro work. I'm not sure if it applies the same way to the torch. If it does, I would expect CBS to break up and look like individual sparkles easier, and Dichro Magic to stay more solid.
I've had a lot of problems using DichroMagic both for lampworking and for fusing (the coating actually came off the sheets when I soaked some glass prior to fusing! ) When lampworking, I personally found that the DichroMagic was far more touchy and prone to burning out than some others. I prefer using anything coated by CBS (Coatings by Sandburg) for both lampwork and fusing. I've used Bullseye, Effetre and boro done by CBS. But hey, your mileage may vary, as it appears that others have had positive experiences.......
Peace,
Suzee
