Any tips about this? Does it need to be encased? Do you ever encase it in any colors besides clear?
Thanks!

Hi Gretchen,
It is best to encase goldstone when pulling stringer as it burns easily. You can encase it in any transparent glass that you like, some favorites are light amethyst, pink, rubino oro, but any transparent should work.

Do a search here in the Tips section. There have been several how-to posts in the past. I don't mean that to sound snarky, I just know (cuz I posted some of it LOL) that there's a bunch of info in the archives.

yep - and also search the term aventurine and the common misspelling of adventurine.

Don't encase it with any of the topaz's. The metal in the glass interacts with the goldstone when heated and turns an icky brown.

I like to encase the goldstone with striking red and striking orange and the blue adventurine with streaky saphire.

Try encasing VERY THINLY with Effetre Black. Gives an interesting deep purple goldstone. Love it!

Rubino over goldstone is still one of my favorites. So's transparent teal.
