mint green? I only have Effetre and a little Bullseye, and I can't find anything that resembles mint green.

Also, could someone tell me how to make a dogwood bloom?

Mix some of your greens with white... you are not limited by the color of the rods you have. They will mix down to make a minty green. :D

Here is a dogwood.

If you want to encase one...I'd make either a white (or they also come in pink) 4 petal flower. Use either the poker or a stamen cane to bring in the center. Then dot the center with clear....then take the poker to dimple the petals....put the poker in next to the petal and then drag towards the center slightly..just to indent it. Then encase.

If you want to leave it raised...I would make a flat stringer...I make mine on the tip of an uncoated mandrel....wind on a gather of..white, then encase in clear or rubino. Flatten this out then pull stringer...like a ribbon. When you lay it down start at the center of the flower and lay the stringer down..flame cut...do it four times. Add yellow dots for the center...notch the petals. You can get fancy and make the stringer striped with rubino or amber (gives an ivory appearance).

I hope this helps...this is how I would do it. :)

Maybe mix Copper Green and white? I'd encase to keep it from reducing.

this is going to be so unhelpful.... but if it was for surface decoration I'd use check mint green. ( never had a compatability issue yet with this little 104 bugger) if it was for a base bead I'd try mixing some white with just a tiny bit of emerald green. ( takes very little) and keep working it till I got an even color. Then I'd pull that into a bit of rod- and then decide that after all that work I'd rather not use it and do something else.

OOooooooo Kevan, what beauties! Very nice mint green!

Thanks everyone, for the suggestions. Mixing green and white hadn't even crossed my mind! #-o

Thanks for the picture, Anna. That's exactly what I needed - I'll definitely try your technique.

Misfit, do we know eachother? Your post sounds strangely familiar. ;-)

Kalera, I sense an order coming your way. I'd love to have some of that green - besides I need an excuse to order some more Bullseye!

Check out Drew Fritts' web site. He used to have a recipe list for mixing all kinds of colors. I know it's in his marble book if you can get ahold of one.

Ocean - Sea who named them something that close? lol

The lighter pastelier greener color. I think we're talking the same thing. Frantz doesn't have anymore, looks like.

Looking at your beads, it looks like we are talking about the same color. :) The Ocean odd lot is a little bluer. I think Moretti and More on ebay still has them. :)

If they don't carry this mint green ( ocean or sea) anymore you might want to consider Czech mint green, it's exactly the same color as Kandices lickable beads

These PI Glass people in Seattle make their own 96 glass. I haven't tried it or anything, but they have a couple of minty green colors - Appliance and Bridesmaid-

Here's their color chart

Very nice colors, Kevan, very nice indeed.....

Kandice, my thoughts exactly, regarding the blackberry - the cappuccino's not too shabby either.

Has anyone worked with their colors before?

Vicki, I used some at a get together a couple months ago and some of the pinks at a friend's house. They have really interesting colors, worked just fine.

I have some photos of beads I used with the Vetrofond Pastel Odd Sea Green. I pulled it out after reading this thread.
