Does this color do anything cool?
Does it have any neat reactions with anything?
Thanks

This was posted in the Gallery topic in the Frit Beads thread.

Here is a different approach that I learned from Trey Cornette when he was at my studio last month:

I've been experimenting with different base colors--wrapped with silver foil , and then rolled in ivory frit. It has been a lot of fun playing with this technique.

If you read down, the bead on the right is Vetrofond ochre, the one on the left is tribal turquoise and the center one is red tile roof.

I loooove this colour, and I use it to have a more "earthish" tone of yellow: the colour in itself makes some "shade"-effects, so you get a natural touch with it.
here are some examples:
the first one is with both, moretti and vetrofond ochre mixed as a background
and the second one has some orange enamel powered over vetro ochre, and it looks somehow "fluorescent" as a background, because the orange seems to be dark yellow on it.
as the yellow do, it will give a brownish outline with blues, here in the dots with moretti light sky blue

Thanks you guys!
I've had this color forever and never used it. I think I will try the foil and ivory frit idea!!

Vetrofond ocher or senape is one of my favorite colors. On its own it's kind of yucky but it does amazing things as a complimentary color. I am not a fan of the Moretti ocher as it reminds me of something you'd find in a diaper.

I don't have a picture of an example, but I love to use Effetre yellow ocher stringer on a base of Effetre violet pastel (272) when I make gravity beads. It does react with the violet and creates the effect of an additional color with the dark violet line that develops.

Some day I'll have to try the Vetrofond version.
