I have some frit in Triton, Psyche, Terranova2 and all I seem to get is a muddy color --- I am using it on dark ivory. Any suggestions as to what colors I could be using it on and how do I get it to react - so far no luck. :(

dark ivory will overwhelm reactive frit....try on light ivory, silver pink or white...

Pull some stringer with the frit. Try it over cobalt or black. For the Triton and Psyche, after you apply the stringer and it is well affixed or melted in, let the glow fade from the bead, turn down your oxy and waft the bead briefy through the reduction flame, just past the candles (which will be a large orange arrow shape). You should get an immediate metallic reaction, silvery gold for Triton, purplish aqua for Psyche. Haven't used Terranova, so no help there. But I think Triton and Psyche are the easiest DH glasses to work. Let us know how you fare. OK?

terranova 2 is easy once you get the hang of it. i use the t2 frit on a simple vetro black base roll it in the frit melt it in, then heat the snot out of it till the frit goes clear. pull out of the flame wait for the glow to go away, then in the veerrrry back of the flame i hold it and rotate it very slowly it sometimes takes a minute to strike but just hold it there it will come. i never had any luck on my hot head with striking silver glass, is that what you are using? i always got brown milk duds.
Is it fine or coarse? I have found that the bigger chunks work better, so if it is fine I would add several layers of the frit.

silver glass on dark ivory is a pain in the butt! you need to use really big spots & barely strike it or the ivory reaction covers it up!
use black as a base, or white--or if you want "creamy", use Lauscha Vanilla Ice (white with silver) --it will fume itself to a pale ivory (darker the longer you work it) & the silver in the glass is reactive, so you get nice reactions from the silver glass as well--really nice stuff! Vetrofond Yellow Ice is another lovely creamy shade & "non-overwhelming" (no brown rings) for silver glass.
Lauscha also has some lovely milky way colors--creme brulee, carmello, tea rose, & a batch of others (all tans, creams, beiges, all available through flamekissed glass, lauscha lady & flame dame--check the sale rack for sales--and check the canadian exchange rate too--sometimes the exchange rate makes lauscha lady the best deal even with shipping ;)) that can give you BOTH the look of dark ivory WITH the reactivity of extra added silver (and sometimes gold!) in the glass--fantastic stuff for working with silvered glass. :)

Thanks everyone for the information (old though it is), I've been arguing with Phyche myself and this should be very helpful.
