Okay... I have rod nippers... bad... cheap... dull rod nippers. I'm trying to find a pair of decent ones suitable for cutting murrine but having not used much of this type of stuff I have no clue what's good. Has anyone found a website selling good nippers that are reasonably priced?

Many thanks!

Mine came from Arrow Springs, and they work great. I have both kinds - the ones with the circular cutters, and the ones that are end nippers. I can cut thin slices off rods or canes pretty consistently with them.

Which do you think works better? The kind with the circular blades or the end nippers?

Depends on what I'm doing. For just cutting rods, the circular works best. For cutting canes down to thin slices, I like end nippers. I put a washer or two (whatever thickness I want for the murrini) on the table, then stand the rod up inside them. I put the nippers down on the washers and cut. That way they are all consistent size.

I use tile nippers from Sears Hardware. They were cheap and they work fine for murinni or cutting rods up to 8mm.
