Tutorial for Beginners!

Hey everyone! I am going to be doing a tutorial very soon for BEGINNER (to intermediate) lampworkers. I have a couple of ideas of what to do, but want
some opinions! I want to know what YOU want to learn, as a beginning lampworker! Is there a technique you've been trying to figure out? Something you've always wanted to learn but were afraid to ask? ;)

So.... Bring it on! Give me your requests!

Stringer control will probably be a weak area for me - since I have hand and arm disabilities (they don't always do what I ask them to darn it!)

Also - what colors and types of glass NOT to use together and why

Kinda tired right now but I will think about this some more and maybe add things tomorrow.

Corina's stringer control DVD is excellent for beginners, plus there's a ton of info about glass colors here on LE, plus lots of books already in print written specifically for beginners.

will this be an ebook, or a printed book? how long do you think it will be, and how many photos? what will make it different from what's already out there, a better deal, unique, etc.?

I'm just asking, because there's such a plethora of instruction aimed at beginners already.

This would be a tutorial for a specific bead (using techniques that a beginner can learn fairly easily), so that by the end of the tutorial the beginner bead maker should be able to reproduce the bead fairly easily. I understand that there are a lot of books and things that are already out there geared to the beginning bead maker, but I have heard a LOT of beginning bead makers say that they are intimidated by some of the tutorials out there because they are beyond what would be considered basic techniques.

That's why I asked this question... what do beginning bead makers really want to learn as far as a bead shape, style, etc.. that they might be having trouble with? Raised floral beads? Hearts?

ok, I think I get you. you're talking about a tutorial for a specific bead that assumes the reader doesn't already know some basic techniques that are required in the making of the bead? I could see how that would be useful.

Right, Mia. :) Most of the tutorials out there (including mine) are geared more towards the intermediate lampworker (although they have techniques IN them that a beginner would find helpful, and they definitely learn something from them, a lot of them are tricky and difficult for the newer lampworker to end up with a finished product that's like the tutorial bead...) I want to offer a tutorial to the beginners out there that they can truly do from start to finish and end up with a nice finished bead. I remember when I first started and just wanted to learn how to do certain things, but had a really hard time finding any info that was all together in the same place.

Oh, another thing - this tutorial will be VERY inexpensive, as I understand that times are tight everywhere! :)

I think for beginners is there a lot of information already on the internet.
Search on youtube on beadmaking of lampworking et voila, enough stuff for ages.
There are also a lot of free tutorials for beginners. Take a look in the free tutorial space!
I am willing to pay for information that is special. Not for beginners information.
