Porcupine & Donut Beads in PMC
May15th - 16th, 2009

9:30am-5:30pm

2-Day Workshop Fee: $395.00 (includes all materials and lunch)

During this insightful two-day class, we’ll learn to make complex beads using PMC3, texture plates and polymer clay molds. We’ll create porcupine beads by implanting wire for setting half-drilled pearls. Plus, we’ll discover the joy of texture plates, and how they can be created. This class also covers additional ways to incorporate polymer clay molds into your work. The bonus "Donut" bead is a simpler construction but in the same family of form. This is an intermediate level class for PMC students. All tools and materials will be provided but feel free to bring your favorite tools and textures for extra fun!

Hollow Lampwork Beads on PMC Cores

May 17th - 18th, 2009

9:30am - 5:30pm

2-Day Workshop Fee: $450.00 (includes all materials and lunch)

This two-day workshop delivers the secret tricks to this very specialized lampwork bead hybrid technique. Until now, the PMC core bead was a virtual mystery to most glass bead makers. Finally, one of the pioneers will share her sought after techniques. Students will be working with PMC to create armatures, which will then be fired, polished, and then attached to mandrels. We will then apply glass either solidly or in a hollow bead form to create a finished bead with silver elements. The possibilities are endless. This class requires basic experience with metal clay and intermediate skills with lampwork.
