Hi, I am a newbie.
I have a brand new set of regulators that came with an acetylene welding torch set. Can I use these regulators for lampworking? Does anyone know if an acetylene regulator is different than one for propane? Can I use the acetylene regulator with propane? Will welding regulators provide the same gas flow as the ones purchased from a glass supply company?
Thanks for your help
This is a great forum

Yes, that's what I have and they work fabulously. I just wrote about this very subject in another thread last night, here it is :

And Mike A is right - you will want a 0-30 psi regulator for your propane, NOT a 0-100 or 120 or whatever. His advice saved me years of fire-breathing-dragon-flame frustration. :) As far as I know, most regulators for acetylene only go to 30psi, with above 15 psi being in the red zone - so it's likely you have the right kind.

Hope this helps,
Sarah :)
