I would like to learn how to make decent encased nugget bead. Is the trick to make a small nugget, do your design and then encase which hopefully makes the nugget bead the next size up in the press??? Any advice greatly appreciated.... Thanks...

This would be very difficult to do as the flattened nugget shape would be hard to encase properly. I make my design, roll it gently into a sort of sausage shape in the press, encase very thinly, then press.

I agree with Carolyn. Keep the encasement as thin as possible. I make the base bead into a rolo (barrel shape first) I ususally have a few trys before I figure out how much ea size needs for glass.
Here's a bad pic of some dichroic beads I did last week into Nugget shape.
Hope that helps!
