I have a sheet of really pretty
WISSMACH
MYSTIC STREAKY COLORS
W 701 LL med purple, w/lt purple. The Wissmach site says 94 cod. I just a minor torch and a oxycon, can I use this for beads? As long as I don't mix it with my 104 cod. I have heard of people using sheet glass just never tried it myself. Any ideas??

Ok you can cut it in strips and torch it BUT and this is a big BUT, Wissmach is not like Spectrum or Bullseye glass. It may say COE94 but from experience a single sheet can have lots of stress in it and I would not mix it with anything else, not even another piece of wissmach or any frit. Also having fired lots of different wissmach in a kiln and slumped pieces, it probably won't stay that pretty color but turn a red or muddy brown but I haven't slumped 701LL so you won't lose anything by giving it a try. Experiment away!

I have used my old stained glass stash for spacers, but frankly have been a bit disappointed in the results. The most beautiful streaky sheet glass often comes out as a muddy mess. I would cut a strip and make some spacers with it to see how it turns out. Oh and the strips are very shocky!!

Thanks Carolyn. I think I am going to try it. I need practice making spacers anyway. What can it hurt- one strip? Just waiting for it to get warm enough to get out in the garage. Wednesday is suppose to be around 50. [-o<
