Silver spitting when fuming

I've been playing with fuming for the past few days, and I keep having my silver bubble, pop, spray all over, and get stuck to my bead in little bits. It looks kind of cool, but I keep getting burned and I'm afraid silver will get stuck in my torch tip. I've tried using less silver but it still happens. Am I just getting it too hot?

It's pure silver, if that helps.

Work a little further out in the flame or turn your flame a little cooler. What's happening is that the silver is boiling instead of vaporizing.
