Leaf is my worst enemy. Foil and I get along just dandy. It's so much easier to control!

Foil...it's easier to work with. Less prone to get blown around and you can handle with your fingers.

Foil for most applications. Leaf when I want to use cobalt and have it "disappear" into the surface yet leave a subtle sheen.
I like the subtler look of leaf, but foil is without a doubt much easier to work with.

They're both good. Leaf is better if you have a smaller torch because the foil can sometimes actually be hard to "melt in" evenly over some stiffer colours! Leaf is also better for silvered ivory, in my opinion... Foil is way better for a "star" effect on colalt or black, and much better for staying shiny under encasing! Foil's way easier to use but leaf is more bang for the buck! Leaf just takes some tweezer finesse to move it around. I've read somewhere that using a cutting wheel is a great way to cut silver leaf - I don't have one but it makes a lot of sense to me! -Heather

I use a hot head and for now only tried foil. I really don't have problems melting it in on dark transparent colors. As it's pretty expensive $36Cdn for 25 small sheets, I was wondering if the leaf would be a better purchase.
I do use my rotary cutter to slice in strips and it's perfect!
Thanks
