square beads

I have a really cute pair of needle nose pliers with mashing plates on the end of them. I have been trying to make square beads with them, but I'm not sure where they are exactly parallel, so I have "natural" squares.Can I make square beads with these? Do I just need more practice, or do I need to invest in a pair of parallel mashers?

If the jaws don't close parallel they will not work well if at all.

You can make square beads without mashers. Just use your marver.

Natural squares are good too. I love the organic handshaped shapes and so do many customers or so it seems.

Who makes a press? These are tiny "squares"--made on 1/16" mandrels and probably not much bigger than five millimeters. They're the subtle stripe pattern that's on Corina's website. The slightly misshapen ones are great for me--I'll make a necklace of them to go with a new shirt. I'm making some for a customer and they're supposed to match a necklace that has a square faceted crystal for a pendant.
