Hey Guys... Not sure this is the place to put this.. but.. well.. :D
I purchased a sample pkg of the PI Glass with the hopes to make the 96coe color palate larger.
I have made several beads with the base of PI and encased with Uroboros and vise versa. No cracks.
The PI Glass melts so smooth it is a really nice glass. I had no problems with bubbling, burning or scumming. I haven't tried to see if any of the colors I have are reactive with silver. Those are my next tests. :)
I've only got a little of the PI glass but I'm looking forward to working with it, especially since I'll be able to use all those frits with abandon!

Have you found any reactions between the glasses like with Moretti? Or with silver?
I also got some of a Limited Edition that they are calling Tuscany. It is kinda like a Light Terracotta color.

Hey Nicole, I haven't found too many reactions, but that can be a good thing. It's kind of "you know what you are going to get" kind of glass.
I just looked at the Apple Flora set and for the life of me I can't remember what I did. Hey....I am old, give a girl a break. ROFL!!!
I "think" it was copper green moretti, but I don't remember what frit. It looks like the stringer was done in the original coral. You know, the good stuff that we can't get anymore. :(

:) Dontcha just hate when you can't remember what the heck you did :) I will try some copper green with some I am thinking apricot of amber gold frit and see what I get. (I also think I have some of the OLD coral) But I believe I have about 10 different shades of coral so who knows.. LOL
As soon as I get my PI Glass beads cleaned and pictured I will post them up. The one thing I did notice is that the PI clear is a little scratched up and has to be picked at to get a clear encasement. But other than that I haven't seen any issues with this glass. I just re-ordered some of the colors I know that I would use again and the packaging is impeccable. Each color wrapped in tissue paper then in bubble. NICE and CLEAN :)

OH... also I though that the Nonfat White would be a nice translucent white that you could encase dark colors in and get some neat effect. I did one bead like that and apparently my encasement is either to thick or it is a denser white than it seems

I have found you can "Silver" the Thumbnail, Cappaccino and Silly Putty. Varying shades result. I have a bead somewhere that has Silvered Cappaccino on it. If I can find it I'll photograph it. I haven't done a lot with them, but they did do some fun things in the couple beads I played with.
I do like the glass and have found it to be pretty straight forward for the most part. I haven't played a lot with different colors, but the Cappaccino does have variations in itself from dark to light, and I think it was Silly Putty that did too.
Nonfat almost seems to strike to a more opaque white. I agree that I would liked to have seen it stay more milky...that would have been cool.
Pi and Uroboros are supposed to be completely compatible. There has been rumblings of trouble with mixing Gaffer Cane with it, but I haven't had a problem. It should work excellent with the Intense Stringer from Reichenbach too.
This knob is Cappaccino, with Raku and Intense Green stringer decorations on the surface.
I love the PI pallet. Has anyone else experienced cracking problems? It has been my experience that the glass (reds in this case) is very tempermental about getting too cool too quick. Needs to be kilned right away ...hence, no admiring your work before you put it in the kiln.....
With that in mind, it has worked for me well.

Ooooh those are yummy! I'm planning to order a sample set. I emailed the PI Glass folks, hoping they were selling someplace in Tucson, but apparently their plans fell through for this year. They told me they will be selling there next year. I'm NOT waiting!
Anybody know what's up with Pi? I went to their web site, and all it has on it is a message saying "We regret that we are unable to fill any orders at this time. Thank you for your interest and stay creative!" You can't view their products or anything.

Crap! That is terrible news and has an ominous sound to it.
I emailed them and got this response:
Thank you for your support. Unfortunately, Pi Glass is currently on hold. We hope to get back on the market again with the products and quality we promised. We are trying to resolve our issues as soon as possible and will keep you informed on the development.

Oh, that's awful! I was hoping to order some - I really like their colors! I hope they're back up soon...
I have an order that I've been waiting on for a while with them. I got the e-mail confirmation, but they never charged my card, so it's not a big deal. But, I'd still like to get some of the glass....

I called in an order last week and got it a couple days ago...I'm surprised you haven't heard Cosmo. I'd email them.
Well, it sounds like something is going on over there. I checked this morning and they still haven't charged my card, so it's not too big of a deal. Mine was a pretty big order. 40 pounds or so...

Dumb question
What is PI Glass.
Here is their website, http://www.pi-glass.com/, which doesn't do you any good now  but hopefully in the future, they'll be back up and running.
The glass is 96 COE. I found out about thru a thread awhile ago here on LE.
Melts like buttah. Nice colors, but limited.
