Can you put a 104 coe bead that has been capped with silver with a copper tubing into a tumbler with shot, water, and detergent??? Will it hurt the glass bead at all---just checking any reponses would be appreciated --when using the rawhide mallet it makes some scuff marks on the silver and I would like to tumble the whole bead again to get the scuff marks out thanks Brad
The direct answer to your question is yes, you can do that. The tumbler with shot, water and detergent is only going to burnish polish the silver since there is no abrasive (which is a good thing). This process does not change shape, so depending on how deep the scuff marks are, it may only polish them to a shiny glow.

depending on the shape of your shot and the size of your tubing hole...you may want to put a string or cord thru there to keep the shot from getting stuck! Ask me how I know!

Tumbling really polishes but like Ginko says you will have to polish deep marks out first. Also, I use a wooden skewer to poke out those stubborn little shot pieces. Works well.
