My bday is coming up and DH is getting me a new torch and an oxycon. I was looking at the mini cc, piranah, and bobcat. Can any of these run on 1 oxycon? ](*,) I am not interested in working boro, only soft glass.

I only have experience with the mini-cc. It will run on one, fine for soft glass. The knobs do get a little warm but it's not too bad really. I ran with one for about 6 months or so. A second oxycon down the line will solve that problem, besides giving you more oomph. Happy Birthday early!

Minors do just fine on one concentrator. We teach classes on them and they'll run all day. We use AirSep Newlife concentrators.

i use a nortel minor with 1 airsep newlife oxycon. works great for soft glass

I use a bobcat which I LOVE:-D with one concentrator.

LOL...you sound just like me! My DH is getting me a torch and oxycon for my b-day! I was just looking for the same info the other day.

I have a mini cc and it runs great. Sometimes I wish for more heat, but that is rare. If you are upgrading from a HH like I was, this is a vast improvement.

National 8 M is great with one.

I just changed over from a minor to a Bobcat and I LOVE it, runs just fine. I only do soft glass.

Only with SM5 or SM 7 tip. SM21 is to big for one oxycon. Small ones work just fine.

Oh, wow, Dale! I'm glad to hear that, cause I was just about to buy the SM21 tip. So I would need to get a second oxycon? Bummer! Thanks for the info on that.

I loved my minor on one concentrator, and switched to a Lynx. I use this baby on one concentrator when using soft glass, and turn on the second one for boro and raku, but it works like a charm on one .

Yes SM 21 would require two oxycons.... BUT a 8M with SM7 tip is about equal to a minor or bobcat or etc;... IF you want to step up to bigger later you just get MS21 tip and second oxycon and not whole new torch....
