Reactive glass?

Okay,

I am still new and full of questions! I keep reading about how this glass is reactive to that glass but not to a different one. What is every one talking about? Is there a list somewhere of colors that I shouldn't try to mix? I'm sure I've seen it happen, I have a box full of beads that I'd like to blame on some reaction other than my hands and brain not working together. :-k
