Hi,
I was pointed to a cz source (thanks Anna! ).
I would like to buy the nice assortment pack. But, it seems the smalled mm available for the assortment of colours is 3mm. I've used some larger ones that were for PMC, two survived, one busted. I was wondering if anyone has used 3mm with any regular success? I'd like to have a clue before I make the small investment. PLUS, I'd like to use the 3mm ones, as I have hard time getting the 2mm ones to sit on the surface nicely (like Weegems does! =D> ) and think they'd give more of a sparkly splash.

Thoughts? Experience?

Thanks!

I have successfully used 1mm to 3mm CZs in my beads & off mandrel implosion pendants (my absolute favorite). I have also successfully used some of the colored ones that were not necessarily rated for casting.

I haven't had any problems picking them up and handling them. I put them face down on a paddle and then pick them up using small square ended tweezers (if that makes sense).

I'd post pictures but I still haven't gotten setup to take a decent picture. Soon, very soon and then I will post some in the gallery.

Good to know.
I've used 1.5mm and 2mm with good results. I use craft glue and attach them to the end of mandrels for precise placement. I get a good position and the glue just burns off.

I just had the beads break on me that I made with the cz's I found in the PMC section of the local store. So, I know those are too big. I may just bite the bullet and buy this assortment.

Thanks for the feedback!

I've used 3mm CZs with success. Avoid using CZs with Laucha (any color), the glass around the CZs cracks. My favorite glass to use with CZs is Vetrofond clear, it never cracks around the CZ.

Thanks so much for the input Alex. I basically only use Moretti, so I will get myself some Vetrofond on your recommendation. I think I'm getting the courage to buy the 3mm cz's. ; )
