Bead ideas?

I have been beating my brains out to make a set of beads for my cousin. I was trying to do some of those watercolor/chintz types of beads, but I have been very unhappy with the ones I have made. My problem is more colorwise than anything. Any suggestions for a surefire recipe for success? I know part of my problem has been using ivory for a base....I guess I should change THAT first...lol.

I would use a white or pink base. Have your tried a nice frit blend?

Thanks Alex...I have tried several, I just can't seem to get these to look the way I want them. I have some tapestry frit and that looked really nice so I may stick with that. I also just got some boro bora so I may see how that turns out.
