About 20 minutes of video condensed down. I'm using a 10mm steel rod, Ryobi lithium drill (weighs very little) 20mm clear rod, moss, amber purple and a unknown blue rod. This is just one way to do it. Do em big do em small mix it by hand, two colors no clear, no right or wrong. The color i made is diluted but i'm going to use it big so it works very well, it gives me more color to work with and saves some cash. I also like doing this with shorts which gets them outta the way and yields some interesting colors.

That was neat. It looked like you had the clear rod inserted in the chuck?

I'd love to see what you make out of that!

Yup there is a 10mm clear rod in the chuck, it's the biggest that fits, and If the gather of glass is not hot enough it will snap that 10mm like its nothing.

Here is the final color worked. Its the greenish looking one. The other color is also drill mixed, I believe its silver strike 3 and amber purple.

bingo just what i need for twisties. I used all kinds of turning motorized things but a glass rod inside for twisting should work on slow speed great..
thanks Katja

It takes some getting used to but for some blends it's really indespensible. I always use the cordless drill to blend up disco and steel wool based blends. When it comes out just right you can get some really unique satin sparkle that you don't quite get by hand mixing.

The satin stuff usually happens to me when i use disco. I'm not too big of a fan of disco though. I prefer steel wool it seems to mix better.
