Well, I'm excited. Made a few butterflies for Beads of Courage last weekend- Here is a link to my blog, which has pics and written instructions for the way I make butterflies.

And there is a companion video on youtube here:

What a great tutorial! =D>

One of the things I love about it is that you used the same transparent color for the body as the beginning of the wings. By doing this the two blend seamlessly together. I use black a lot for the bodies of my butterflies because other transparents don't show if the wing color overlaps the body a little. The transparent just disappears onto the black. But I love the clear body. Your butterflies are just beautiful!

Thanks, Diane. The clear bodies were recommended by a couple of folks, and I liked it when I tried it.
I wish the video was a bit better- I didn't realize there was audio at first, and I should have taken the butterfly out of the flame so you could see what was going on better. It was my first time being filmed, and I had no idea that it could end up on youtube. I've learned some things for next time (if there is ever a next time).
I do think the wing shaping step comes through fairly well- hopefully that and the tut together will help it all make sense to folks!

Just here to pop this up to the top of the list again! 'Cause I'm still kinda excited.

Just me again. A couple of hundred folks have gone to see the video. I know it's not great, but with the tut on my blog, I think it's worthwhile. It's a bit different from the other butterflies I've seen out there.
Let me know what you think!
