I did some research on this yesterday and just wanted to check that I've got this right.

If I get the G-Tec 15, it'll give me enough boost to run a torch that requires 5 PSI of fuel.

I'll need a regulator for the booster.

I'll need a flashback arrestor on the fuel line.

I'll need someone to professionally install the booster.

Am I overlooking something that I'll need? Should I/can I deal directly with G-tec to get the booster? Or is it better to get it through a reseller?

Thanks for your help.

If you haven't done this already, check out the Orchid archives at:

http://www.ganoksin.com/orchid/orchid.htm

This the one of the largest mailing lists for jewelers and there have been several discussions of the NG boosters there in the past.

Yes you can buy directly from G-Tec. Yes it will power a 5psi torch. I run a phantom at 10 psi However the 15 is a tad small and will run out of gas and turn off if I open the torch all the way.

You will need a regulator with flash back. Their very eazy to install and come with every thing you need to hook into the gas line.

Yes you'll LOVE IT.

I need to take another look at the 30. I don't want to be caught a few years down the road needing yet another booster.

Thanks for letting me know that I don't need a professional installer.

Thanks, everyone, for your help!
