Hi!
I just got one of those long, skinny brass marvers, with a ton of sharp little "V" grooves cut in it on one side. I thought it would be pretty simple to use, but I'm finding that it's not as easy as it looks! LOL I tried marving a donut bead and encased, but then got lots of bubbles where it was creased by the tool. Do any of you have one of these and can give me some pointers on the best way to use it and some cool effects this tool can do?

Thanks so much!

I don't have one; was wondering, though....

Have you tried first encasing your base bead in a light layer of clear, heating it and then running it across all the little "V"s and then re-heating and slowly melting smooth? I thought this might retain the "v" shapes and help keep bubbling to a minimum.

Just a thought! Would like to see what the "pros" recommend...

Ooh! That's a great idea—I'll give that a try and see what happens. Thanks!

Yup, I would try what De said. It will look like gills. The base glass will retain a grooved look while the clear will melt back smooth. If you try to encase the grooves and your not careful to "push" the clear into them while they are cool enough so they won't distort, it will cause bubbles. Looks like your the pro De:-P
