I'm curious about the differences between DaVinci 2, Davinci Amber Purple and Super Davinci. Any info is appreciated! Liz

The original, is transparent, and Davinci 2 is opaque...not sure but I think the super just has extra silver, and is also opaque. I don't have the super though, but I do have the other two. -Echo :)

I have one thick rod of the super (looks black) and several rods of the DV2 (opaque blue, looks like Sasha on the outside but with concentric rings. I guess I must needs try the original. :)

DaVinci is clear Amber Yellow = Amber Purple
DaVinci2 WAS clear brown to Dark Amber
Super DaVinci2 came out when the rod pulling method changed to the Itlaian way but dipping large steel punti into a pot getting multiple gathers creating those nice "tree rings" when you look at the end of the rods. They strike when they are pulled this way making them opaque.
Because DaVinci2 is only pulled this way now and is the standard... the name "Super" was removed and it is all now just DaVinci2.

The Transparent DaVinci, which is a very light amber yellow, is a favorite of mine! I made this alien guy while testing it, and I love the opalescence!

I did buy a pound of it way back when...is this stuff still available or is it gone, gone, GONE? :(

Are all of them striking silvers, or was the original a reduction color?

I see both for sale at Rocio's site, just trying to decide what to order and wondering how close the original DV is to the DH test color H 229 amber purple which I love love love. :)

Liz - the original daVinci is a reducing color.

Neither daVinci 1 (reducing) or daVinci 2 (striking) is anything like Double Helix's H229.
