Heads up on this tutorial,
Just wanted to add that I will add to this tut periodically,
by posting mini free tuts on my website to make tiny stuffings eg: candy canes
pumpkins, jelly beans, witch hats, holiday lights etc to fill inside your snow
globes.

I made some and am working on filling them today.. but... I made a few with no tops (so to speak) and will cap them so there won't be any handles... I was trying to make a "spirit ball" for my daughters volleyball tournament this weekend. Can't quite figure out how to make a teeny tiny volleyball to put in there! lol! But I have twisties and little balls of color, a tiny heart, a couple of cz's and glitter. I'm working on the cap today. I'll post pictures when I get it done :D

thanks so much everyone! while the guy was fishing, I hand wrote the entire frog tut

and dreamed up n sketched some cool stuffings for the pixie pots, mini thingys to put in them.

My first try was pretty until I realized I hadn't put a handle on it and that's when I ruined it.

Good practice for the next one I guess. I redipped all my 1/4" mandrels and can't wait to try again and I am looking forward to see what you dreamed up for the pixie pots, Laurie. :-).

I check daily hoping for pictures! I finally made a decent twisty, I wasn't heating them up enough. It's a lot more fun when you have success and now I want to make more :) I haven't tried the pot yet but am hoping to today or tomorrow!

I was telling my sister today about the tutorials and how sometimes you might not make the beads well that are in the tutorials but the little secrets that are shared are worth getting them. This tutorial is the one I was telling her about today because I used one of the techniques taught in it for pulling some feather cane. She had called me as I was about to pull the cane and I had to let the phone ring but called her back and told her I don't know what I would have done if I hadn't remembered something shared in this particular tutorial.

I'm so glad I got it :-).

Tamara, thanks for sharing! It's wonderful! I made one the other day that didn't survive :( I have a paragon kiln for pmc that doesn't have a kiln door so I can't put my beads directly in the kiln, I batch anneal. I think I'm going to have to wait until I get the proper door before I try again. Meanwhile I think I'll practice my twisties I guess.

My kiln doesn't have a bead door - I just open the door each time and put them in. You don't have the door open long enough to loose too much heat.

The thing is, my kiln is so small that the mandrels will be in the way of the door. I'll have to get creative!

I was thinking about that too, I never understood why the average length of mandrels are 12 inches anyway. I currently use 9 inch ones but could probably go smaller. I don't make my beads very big.
