I get asked every once in a while to contribute jewelry to a silent auction. Usually I contribute a simple piece in black and white, thinking it will appeal to a wide range of people. I put a black and white focal bead on a necklace and make a matching bracelet.

I would love if anyone else has simple ideas on what might work as a silent auction item. I tend to donate something that doesn't take a lot of time to create at the torch or put together into jewelry but will appeal to a wide variety of people.

I donated 4 pairs of earrings: fall, winter, spring and fall. It was a hit. Joan

I make jewelry every year for the therapeutic school my son attended. I use charms and message beads that are specific for the school and the boys that go there, and the pieces are always a huge hit because of the personalization.

It's a bit time consuming, but I have a few events throughout the year where I donate a beginning lampworking lesson or let someone use the lesson time to "direct" me in making them a few beads with colors and shapes they like. It goes over very well.

i just donated a bracelet with lots of blues and greens. It was bright and showy, which seemed to work out well for the auction (although it was a pretty expensive piece)
