I'm getting brave enough to do some serious raised florals - irises and such. Give me a few hints. Please, share your favorite floral and vine canes recipes here.

I'm headed to an all day meeting so I won't get back to look until tonight. Surprise me!

My favorite is ink blue over periwinkle or sky blue.
I also like rubino over periwinkle, or any pastel pink.
Amber or amber rose over coral.

Have fun!

I like white with thin stringers of black all encased with rubino. Another nice once is white with stringers of black incased with transarent yellow, or the transparent striking orange. Just make sure the black stringers are really thin and laid into grooves on the white.

Thanks, I'm going to have to try all. Those sound interesting.

For vines I like nile green, rolled in iris amber green frit, with stripes of intense black, encased in clear.

For flowers, I like to use a base color, then stripes of a dark coordinating transparent...then encased in clear.

By accident, I used Lauscha purple (the blue purple) with rubino in the purple grooves then encased in pale lavender. Encased in the rubion is also nice.

Good luck,
Lisa

I have a problem with the gold ruby. Will encasing the cane in clear stop it from turning gray?

It helps a lot, but when you use the cane you need to make sure to case the dots with transparent to protect the gold ruby. That was about the only way I could keep that color looking clean. :)
