Copper Ruby reduction frit

OK.... I'm working on a Hot Head and I purchased this frit and just can't seem to NOT burn it up. Is it suppose to turn copper or is that just the affect from letting the metals come to the surface?

Any advise about this frit? I put it away because of the results I was having and I would reaaallllly like to find out how to use this stuffs.....PLEASE!!!
