I need to make my mil something and I've procrastinated like forever. I'm using cultured pearls, rice shaped. Anyone have any ideas on designs or anything. I'm getting desperate now. What should I use with them and should I just link them or string them.......ARRGHHH!!!

Rice pearls are soooo cool -- try multi-strand, so "in" now! Even mix with a couple strands of small link chain in different patterns. If you don't knot, put a tiny seed bead between the pearls, gives it a knotted look!

Add a pretty clasp and VOILE!!!

Have a happy, carefree Christmas, Reenie! All of you deserve some peace!

Best wishes,
Lea

Multi strand like intertwined? That I can't do to where they don't just lay back down flat. Haven't learned how to intertwine and have them stay like that when clasp is on...but thanks for the idea....Gonna sit down and try soon as soon as I finish one more batch of cookies!

I second the seed beads in between the pearls. It looks really pretty that way. do you have any silver or gold filled beads you could add to it? Or maybe a small glass bead pendant or center bead to hang in the middle?

You could put some daisy spacers and swarovski crystals in between the pearls. I would put a couple pearls then a spacer, swarovski, spacer and then a couple pearls and keep going until you have it as long as you need it.
take care,
Sandra

I like the multi strand pearl idea too. It's also fairly easy to intertwine them.
I found a how to link. http://www.kingsmerecrafts.com/page51.html

Don't forget the braiding will shorten the necklace a bit depending on how many times you intertwine.
