Can anyone give me suggestions, or point me to previous threads, about digital controllers?

But specifically, I need to add one to my AIM84. That one wasn't purchased with a digital controller originally and I want to add it now so that one is more reliable for me.

I'd like it to be one that either my boyfriend and/or I could add on ourselves if that's possible.

Right now it just has an infinite switch controller and pyrometer.

Thanks in advance for everyone's suggestions!

I have the bottom ones and it works great and all you got to do is plug your kiln into it and turn your kiln to high the box takes care of the rest.
http://hotasstools.com/digikiln.htm < i have the bottom black one that hooks to the computer if you want or you can set it with out one. <computer program much easier to set up"
I have seen others post around that show how to make your own box but I'm not that into electronics so i went premade. Expensive yes but i never need to buy a kiln with a controller so that saves about the price of this controller.

Thx

My Aim 84 came with a Bartlett 3 key and it worked well.

I use this one on my AIM and it does a beautiful job! I bought it directly from Orton and they were great.

I bought mine a while back when the price was much cheaper than the current price. Just did a search and found it slightly cheaper here:

You may want to keep your eyes open on Ebay for a used one -- found one that just sold for around $150.

Just found another cheaper --- the box looks different, but the control panel looks the same:

If you like building your own equipment then a Fuji PXR-3 (eBay $69) and a SSR ($10) will save you some dollars. If you are not into wiring up your kiln and have no experience with electrical wiring, then paying the extra $200 for an off the shelve unit would be the better choice.
