I just got the 32g fine silver wire from Nicker and as soon as I opened the package I cut a 3" piece to play! Couldn't wait! :D
I made a small bead about 11mm and what I did was heat a spot on one side and poked the wire into it to "anchor" it and then proceeded to wrap around while turning the mandrel. I was doing this right outside the flame, and of course, the wire slipped and started wrapping around the mandrel! I slid it back by tugging a little, and then went into the flame to melt in what I managed to get on there. It wasn't all 3" of it, lol!
The bead has tiny little droplets of silver, and that's exactly what I wanted, so I'm thrilled! But a lot more was on one side than the other because of my botched application technique. hehe
Okay, so how do I apply the wire to the bead? There has to be a much better way than what I have tried already! I have searched all over, but can't find any tutorials/instruction on using the fine silver wire. I'm using a Bobcat so I have a sharp focused flame. I imagine the instructions for a HH would be different because the heat is more widespread. I have used a HH though, so I can relate to the differences.
