Hello all,
I was at a show this weekend and a lady ask if I had any glass knitting needles. I had to admit to her that I had never seen any. So when I got home I did a little research and saw a few online that were really nice but very expensive. I made a few up today but was wondering if anyone else has ever made any and if so are there any tricks to it. I took a 6mm pyrex rod and put a dull point on it and then toppped it with a decorated glass ball. It doesn't look too bad but there is definetely room for improvement.
Thanks.

I've been meaning to make a some. I was going to try it about like you did. I'd like shorter ones than I've seen for sale or I would have just considered buying some.

I'll be interested to see if anyone has any tips or suggestions. I'd even be glad to find a source for short wooden knitting needles to decorate with beads. I've got some with a plastic decoration, I'd like to have some with my beads.

For wooden knitting needles with beads I just bought wooden ones and chopped off the tops. Then I made beads on the end of a mandrel, glued it on and voila! Here:
