OK I'm a klutz. I broke my favorite beadroller. Can it be glued back together? I seem to remember someone using glue on graphite and it worked fine. Can anyone help? I'm crying cause I can't afford to buy a new one and Donna's out for surgery otherwise I'd ask her..............HELP!

there are also some high temp epoxies we used when I was doing lab glass.. a lab supply might have them.. or someone like wale apparatus maybe

Is it safe to use glue? I would assume the high temperatures from the glass could cause the glue to release toxic fumes, but I have no idea if this is correct.

I used E6000 when I broke my brand new bead roller and it worked just fine. Clean both ends with alchol put the glue on each side thinly and press ends carefully together so shape doesn't distort. Clean off any excess and presto like new. I've had no problems and have not smelled any odors. I was concerned about fumes but there is really no glue exposed. That's how I did it hope your problems are solved.

Get some kiln cement. (find a local ceramacist in your area, and bum a teaspoon lot. you should not need more.
I 'glued' my graphite marver togehter like this 3 years ago. It is still stuck, and I use my marver every day, and with most beads. I also use my marver in direct flame. I know it is 'against the rules' but it works for me, lol. so the graphite gets really hot, but kiln cement can endure a lot of heat ...

Thank you one and all for the responses. According to Donna super glue has a high flash point and she's used it on her own beadroller (as she put it, it looks a little funky but works fine). Anyway my DH went a bought some brush on super glue which I used Saturday and let it sit overnight. Sunday morning I was back in business. Only time will tell if it holds up but seems to be working just fine now. I checked into the toxic fume thing and since it is not directly in the flame it doesn't get hot enough to react - at least according to my local weld shop guy.
Thanks to one and all for your responses. I love this LE community!
