I had a sample baggie of silver clear frit that Elizabeth Rose (thank you very much, I had a blast with it) so kindly sent me to play with. It sat around for awhile becaus Elizabeth said she couldn't get it to do much and I was sure if it didn't work for her it really wouldn't work for me. It's the fine stuff, so I got the bright idea to use it to try to make sugar beads, since I don't have any of the plain clear, "sugar" frit. I made one bead with it, but melted it a little much. Then I made floppy discs--not necessarily on purpose--and dunked the edges in it. Didn't melt it quite enough, so it falls off in spots. During all this no reduction whatsoever. Today, I go to make sugar beads and the stuff reduces!!! Go figure. I don't know what was different today. So I still don't know how my beads turned out--they're still in the kiln. And it reduced before it melted flat...

I have some stuff that sounds similiar, its labelled 'dewdrop frit'. It looks clear, but reduces to a silver lustre.
hmm, i don't have a decent picture. Here is a not very good one

If it's the stuff I'm thinking, try it on a light amber base over silver leaf, un-reduced!

Thanks Kalera! I have some of this from Beadgoodies and didn't know what to do with it!
You're welcome! I hope it's the stuff I'm thinking of, because it's a really pretty effect if so!

And if you feel adventurous and have some silver green and blue, or some iris gold or blue, you can mix them with the silver clear and use as Kalera said.
Encase and voila - faux boro. :)
Thank you! :)
I have had this jar forever and now I can use it for something!
