I know Lauscha makes a tri-color rod in several colors. I have the peach and the purple.

There is a Reichenbach that is called "multicolor."

I guess we need more details. Is it being advertised as a "new German glass?" Are they telling you a company? Showing pictures? Do you have any more information besides "multicolor" and "new german glass"?

I'm gonna guess it's the Reichenbach multicolor that they would have been made of. The multicolor is a new color glass, so that's probably what they were talking about.

Is it a blue/pink/raspberry/purple yummy color? That is nice. You can get multicolor and multicolor dark from a number of vendors here in the US (www.themandrel.com is where I got mine, but Reenie has it, too. Frantz probably has it, arrow springs might carry it, OCR--Olympic Color Rod probably has it, too). So no need to wait for your sister to visit in spring to get you some!

Don't buy it from Frantz ... it's $4 an oz. there!

I'm trying to return mine I purchased thinking it was $4 for a 1/4 lb. bundle ... grrr.

OCR has it for $18.41 / 1/4 kilo which is 8.82oz.

I love Donna. She owns the Mandrel and is just awesome. She is in Hawaii this week, so you'll have to wait a bit for your order to ship since the shop is closed. But she will get it to you as soon as she gets back!

There are 4 versions of Reichenbach Multicolor. 2 are in the 104 line and 2 are in the 96 line. They are multicolor and dark multicolor.
