I want to make this set of beads again, and from what I remember about them, I don't think I used Amber Rose. I think it was this one: 791082 Vetrofond Blue Lavender, and this was a version of it available a couple of years ago that looked very much like Amber Rose, only a little lighter. I bought a pound of it plus Effetre's 082, which was a pale blue lavender that looked like the usual - sort of bluish and pale, no pinkish overtones.

Not long after I got that pound of the lovely pinkish stuff I used lots of it making these beads and then it was scattered all about the studio. I'm not sure how many rods I have left, they are unlabeled, and who knows where they are. A short time later I did try to order more, and then I wound up with 5lbs of this stuff with no pinkish color in it. Just the usual pale bluish stuff. :(

Where can I find a 104 COE color that is "dead ringer" for Amber Rose, or at least close? I have some of the Champagne from Devardi, but it's full of bubbles, most of the thick rods I have. Is there a recipe for mixing your own??

Have you tried CIM champagne yet? I don't know what to tell you on the lavender rose. I probably have some but I would hate to send it to you only to find it's the wrong stuff.

If you can find some, Czech Glass Peach aka Rozelin is similar to Amber Rose and a pleasure to work with.

Also, Kugler makes a 104 called Golden that is in the ballpark.

Devardi Champagne Rose is pretty much a dead ringer for Amber Rose. Mike also has some of the Amber Rose that is bluer in tonality in his Artists Points Store.

Sorry, didn't read to the end of your post. Did you try using the Devardi yet? I have found the bubbles in mine pretty much disappear when the glass is melted.

I just ordered glass from Howaco and got a couple of rods of the Cim Champagne. It looks from the pictures to be really close! :)

Lisi ... how come I can't find it on Howaco's website? You don't mean Pink Champagne do you?

Yes she does. cim stands for Color is Messy, the company that makes the glass.

Thanks Suzy but I understand that ... what I was questioning was if the Messy Pink Champagne on the Howaco site was the one she ordered. It just doesn't look like a match to the beads she had in the first post ... at least to me.

Oh. I think she may have been going by the color on the CIM site. It's a bit pinker but it's a great substitute.

Pink Champagne is much more purpley than Amber Rose. It also color-shifts in different lights. Here's my post on comparing transparent pinks...

The pic shows original Amber Rose and also samples of other pinks including the Pink Champagne.

I got an amberish-rose color from Lauscha when I went there in August. It's kind of an amber rose color, but maybe a tad more on the amber color than rose? Don't know how else to explain it. Have you looked at Lauscha colors available?
