I'd like to get more into the recycled glass items, like fusing tiles and such. obviously to bust up a few pounds of glass at time by hand is lobor intensive. has anybody had good luck adapting any simple machines for this purpose ? any and all sizes of machine. from fine to course grind. tell me about your opperation and pulverizing experiances.

What do you plan on doing with the glass once you crush it? Unless the glass is all one COE it will not be able to be mixed with other glass.

Um, you said "tiles and such" so the question of what you plan to DO with the glass once it's crushed up was entirely valid.

Are you fusing the tiles? Mixing them in quickcrete? What you plan on doing with the project influences the answer.

If you're talking about fusing the tiles, likely you're only going to do one bottle at a time unless you run tests to determine the compatibility. That's going to have a bearing on how large of a pulverizer you're going to want. If you're mixing it with quickcrete and making stepping stone type tiles, you can make up a HUGE machine with a 55 gallon drum and an old garbage disposal.

How fine do you want the end product? Mechanical pulverizing isn't going to give you as much control over the final product as crushing it by hand.
