Ribbon Beads

Can anybody out there tell me how to make a ribbon bead? They look like they have a ribbon cane twisted around the center and then encase but I can seem to figure out how to make one.

Do you have a picture of what you'd like to do ??

Otherwise, what you've described is pretty much how you do it . . . wrap a base bead w/ ribbon cane and encase :D

Once you've made the ribbon cane, the process of turning it into a bead is exactly as you describe it.

One other little trick is to rotate the cane as you lay it down, to keep it from unraveling. Another cool variation is to use one of the colors in the ribbon cane as your base bead color. In that case, one of the elements of the cane will seem to vanish as it winds around the base. Kinda nifty.
