I just bought a used Chili Pepper Bead Annealer, and was wondering if anyone could share any advice with me on the programing. The lady I bought it from said she thinks it had 2 programs on it one for boro and one for morette. She was trying to show the program to me, but it had been so long since she used it, she kept saying she thought she was messing up the program as she was showing it to me. Any help you can send my way would be greatly appreciated. I am so excited about my purchase, but can't really use it until I get passed this little issue. My direct email is asamples33@gamail.com
Thanks again for any help,
Andi

Hi,
I have a chili pepper with bartlett controller. How do I program it? I am really confused by what I read in the online manual.
Also, if I want to anneal Glaskolben is it the same as beads, and I would think different coes have different annealing temps? So I work, so far, with 90 coe and 104.
Thank you thank you thank you

Call Jen-Ken and they will walk you through the programming. It is NOT intuitive, but once you have it programmed you can just save it and run it. :)

I called and got Bartlett and was told hold to program, which I get, but he said to call my glass supplier for the temps. His suggestion was ramp to hold at 960 and then anneal at 960 degrees for 2 hours. I thought I read to anneal at a higher temp though, and how do you know what to set kiln for for striking temps? I know I read this someplace, I don't know why I didn't bookmark it.....
Thanks

Thanks David,
I have that part, I just remember reading about other temps and I'm not sure how long to anneal for. I know I can take a few more hours and search, but if you guys can help it's so much easier.
Blessings

What kind of glass are you working with. The 960F would be for soft glass COE104. Any higher and you risk the glass slumping. If you are working with Boro COE33, then you would want to anneal at 1050F. Time is dependent upon the size of the piece(s) you are annealing.

Hi Rowyn,
I anneal all my soft glass, 104, 96, or 90 coe glass at 960 for an hour using the same program and have never had a problem. If you do a search of LE I'm sure you can get more info.

I soak and anneal at 920 for 1.5 hours and another hour at the strain point, 840.
