I need advice on Etsy sale.

I have just had a sale on Etsy, and the name and the address are different on both the sale and the paypal receipt. The customer also doesn't have any previous feedback. How would you proceed? Any suggestions? I have contacted Etsy, but it may be a few days before I hear from them.

If the name and the address are pretty far apart, that's bad.

Same name, different addresses happens all the time when people move, forget to update one or the other, etc. In those cases I just email and ask.

One is male the other is female - one is in DC the other in WI.
The notice on the Paypal receipt said " Hi, the shipping address seems wierd, so please send this to.......".
I find the whole thing a little weird myself. It will be interesting to see what Etsy says. Yes, I did email the customer to see what they say.

Yes, that is what the customer said - so I am going on faith and sending it out.

Well, just keep in mind that you are not covered by Paypal if you did not ship to a confirmed address and something happens after the fact if the sale is disputed.

I probably would have said that unfortunately due to Paypal policies I could only ship to the buyer's confirmed address. If it was for a gift they could mail it themselves (I'm thinking this not saying it to the buyer!)

You are going against paypal rules.
If it goes missing, or it's fraud - you
are completely out of luck.

I never ship unless all the details match.

It's just as easy for them to have their paypal and etsy addresses match and then include a note to ask for them to go somewhere else because it's a gift. I've done that before and it's fine.
