I have tried these and they were a lot of fun! You can add frit to them before you blow, and/or add decoration after they are blown. You must be careful not to blow them out too much or you will end up with shards.

You can get clear soft glass tubing pretty cheap. Then learn to pull points and blow all of these you want. These are easier, but a case of tubing is another fun route... heck, if you can melt it, get some boro tubing. It's less shocky. ;)

I took a class on them in December, my first time using a hot head. Their a lot of fun and it really doesn't take much heat to melt them with or without frit.

I was told they were made specifically for a hothead. They are soft glass but being careful on a minor burner could work....

Medium wall boro tubing is quite easy to melt on burners like Minors and Mini-CCs. I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it myself (and done it!) in a class I took a couple weeks ago. Not sure I'd try it with a 5LPM concentrator, but on tanked oxy, it was the bees knees. You just turn a minor up a bit (not a hard oxy flame--think soft flame with long candles) to melt tubing. Even 25mm tubing melted well enough to make points and bubbles, perfume bottles, etc.

I am getting them to blow nice and round but the little nipple at the bottom ends up on the side. Does anyone know how to get round, even, with the nipple centered on the bottom?
